To love Allah, to know Him intimately, to remember Him constantly, to find peace and rest in Him, to make Him alone the (ultimate) object of love, fear, hope and trust; to base one’s act on His control of His servants’ cares, aspirations and will- such is this world’s Heaven, and such is a Blessing with which no other Blessing can compare. It is by this that the hearts of those who love God are gladdened and that the gnostics find life. As their hearts are gladdened by Allah, so others are gladdened by them. For whoever finds his source of gladness in God, gladdens all hearts; whoever does not, finds nothing in this world but restlessness.” – Ibn-ul Qayyim al-Jawziyya

“People count with self-satisfaction the number of times they have recited the name of God on their prayer beads. But they keep no beads for reckoning the number of idle words they speak”- Imam Ghazali

Truly in the heart there is a void that cannot be removed except with the company of Allah. And in it there is a sadness that cannot be removed except with the happiness of knowing Allah and being true to Him. And in it there is an emptiness that cannot be filled except with love for Him and by turning to Him and always remembering Him. And if a person were given all of the world and what is in it, it would not fill this emptiness.” – Ibn Qayyim

“The lovers of God never run out of patience for they know that time is needed for the crescent moon to become full” – Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi

“Indeed I have fasted from all of the delights in my life,

And the day that I meet You, that day shall be the Iftar of my fasting.” – Ibn Rajab

God says, ‘I will buy you…

your moments,

your breaths,

your possessions,

your lives.

Spend them on Me.

This is your worth in My eyes.’ ” – Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi, Fihi ma Fihi

I carry a torch in one hand

And a bucket of water in the other:

With these things I am going to set fire to Heaven

And put out the flames of Hell

So that voyagers to God can rip the veils

And see the real goal.” – Rabia Basri (ra)

“Oh Allah swt, the stars are shining; all eyes have closed in sleep; the kings have locked their doors. Each lover is alone, in secret, with the one he loves. And I am here too: alone, hidden from all of them– with You” – Rabia Basri (ra)

Had Allah lifted the veil for his slave and shown him how He handles his affairs for him, and how Allah is more keen for the benefit of the slave than his own self, his heart would have melted out of the love for Allah and would have been torn to pieces out of thankfulness to Allah. Therefore if the pains of this world tire you, do not grieve. For it may be that Allah wishes to hear your voice by way of duaa. So pour out your desires in prostration and forget about it and know; that verily Allah does not forget it.” – Ibn Qayyim

“O Allah how may I call unto You, when I am but a sinner,

Yet how may I not call unto You, when You are the Most Gracious?”

“When Allah inspires the tongue to ask, know that He wants to give.” -Ibn Ata’Allah Iskandari

“Those of us who have lived far from nature, and far from beauty, and far from the saints, often have anger, and darkness, and confusion in our hearts. But this is not Sunnah. The Sunnah is about detachment, about the confidence, that however seemingly black the situation of the world, however great the oppression, no leaf falls without the will of Allah. Ultimately, all is well. The cosmos, and history, are in good hands.” – Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad

Stop letting it own you.

Let it go.

Let it go for Him and He will honour you.

He will raise you.” -“Nameless” by Yasmin Mogahed

“He is Allah, Yet you do not Love Him? From the most amazing of matters is that you know Him, yet you do not love Him. You hear his caller yet you delay in responding to him. You know the prestige of working for Him, yet you work for those other than Him. You know the gravity of His Anger, yet you challenge Him. You taste the harsh reality of disobeying Him, yet you do not seek and long for the delight of obeying Him. You feel the tightness in your heart when you engage in conversations about other than Him, yet you do not long for the opening of your chest through His Remembrance and having an intimate discourse with Him. You taste the bitterness of your heart’s attachment to other than Him, yet you do not flee to Him and to the joy of returning to Him. And it is even more amazing that you know you will never have anyone other than Him, and that you are the most destitute of things to Him, yet you crave and ache for what will take you far away from Him.” -Imam Ibn Qayyim

“You cried when He took away your drop of water, not knowing He had saved for you the sea”-Yasmin Mogahed

~~~
The words that come out of our mouths do not vanish but are perpetually stored in infinite space and they will come back to us in due time.”
“Things become manifest through opposites. Since God has no opposite, He remains hidden”
“Dua is the Quran’s remedy for depression” – Nouman Ali Khan
“Lower your gaze from the faults of the others, lower your gaze from that which does not concern you. Lower your gaze from that which people want hidden, lower your gaze from that which makes you angry. Lower your gaze from things that will make you jealous.”
